While Moscow is shaken by military coup in August 1991, KGB general's nephew is shooting an acclaimed actress, who is also his uncle's young wife, in a dubiuos avant-garde film in Crimea. Playing with romance plots from the classics Vladimir and Lev Prudkin give an hommage to russian emigre literature with its mystical understanding of the russian history.
