Paul ist seit vielen Jahren glücklich mit seiner Frau Ruth verheiratet und eigentlich läuft alles bestens. Bis ihm dann eines Tages sein Freund Ed einen Floh ins Ohr setzt, indem er behauptet, dass dessen Ehe – Ed ist eigentlich ebenfalls glücklich verheiratet – nur deswegen so gut funktioniert, weil er sich hin und wieder nach anderen Damen umsieht.
