Rumours are roaming that old Torday the bank governor is dying. The relatives are gathering, waiting for the heritage. His former mother-in-law, a loud lady called "Mum" arrives as well, who brings with her Kovács Gazsi, the never-seen son of Torday from America. The banker recovers. Gazsi is raised by a nurse, so that the young man should learn the good manners. The nurse, Horváth Ilonka and the pretty young man form a gentle relationship, but the father wants to marry his son to the daughter of a rich bank director. Gazsi would hear of no one but Ilonka and she is soon got rid of. Mum is the most ardent supporter of the two young people, who finally end up having each other. (Verleiher-Text)
