The Discovery

The beginning looks very promising. Jason Segel and Rooney Mara meet on the way to an island where everyone has some task they need to fulfil, but these two don’t know that. The mysterious atmosphere grows thicker, rousing my interest. However, at the moment Robert Redford shows up – which got me really excited at that time – everything goes downhill. People are talking about crap, the things happening make so sense, and moreover it’s so boring that I had a hard time watching this film without tension and little plot to the end. And that’s a real shame, because the premise is great, with excellent cast. Unfortunately with Netflix it is often the case that good actors alone don’t make a good film. (29.04.2020)
