In Sony Pictures Animations Hotel Transsilvanien 3 - Ein Monster Urlaub begleiten wir unsere liebste Monster-Familie an Bord eines Luxus-Monster-Kreuzfahrtschiffs, damit auch Drak (Rick Kavanian) mal im Sommer etwas Urlaub von der Arbeit in seinem Hotel nehmen kann, in dem er sonst allen anderen immer einen schönen Urlaub bereitet. Für das Drac Pack läuft alles wunderbar: Die Monster genießen an Bord sämtlichen Spaß, den die Kreuzfahrt zu bieten hat – von Monster-Volleyball bis hin zu exotischen Ausflügen – und frischen nebenbei ihren fahlen Teint im Mondlicht etwas auf. Doch die Traumreise entwickelt sich zu einem Albtraum, als Mavis (Janina Uhse) herausfindet, dass sich Drak in die mysteriöse Kapitänin Ericka (Anke Engelke) verliebt hat. Denn die hütet ein gefährliches Geheimnis, das die ganze Monsterheit zerstören könnte. (Sony Pictures DE)

The spooky gang goes on holiday and Dracula falls in love. Unfortunately, with a captain who comes from the family of his greatest enemies... Hotel Transylvania 3 doesn't come with anything new, but if you're a fan of the previous two, you won't be bored. After all, it's just as likeable, cutely styled and full of fun characters, and with such a cadence of jokes that it doesn't matter if half of them don't really work. A fine animated slapstick.

In der dritten Folge war das ursprüngliche Thema schon ziemlich erschöpft. Der Film Hotel Transsilvanien ist zu einer Reihe von Halloween-Streichen und -Gags geworden. Die Kurzfilme und die Fernsehserie halten ein viel interessanteres Niveau.

Although the previous episodes couldn’t be called peak entertainment, they were fun (though often quite childish), but the third one is a dud with a dozen characters running around screaming and saying something here and there. The story had a promising idea, but it feels lousy, just like the secondary characters, who are clearly out of funny ammo. At least, in a grotesque and original way, it wants to deliver an important message and presents evidence that modern music is evil both for the ears and the soul.
