Twenty-five-year old Mathieu has always aspired to become a famous author. It's a dream which seems inaccessible because, despite all his efforts, he has never managed to be published. Meanwhile, he earns his living by working for a moving company. His destiny takes a new turn the day he stumbles across the manuscript of elderly and solitary man who has recently died. At first Mathieu hesitates, then finally decides to steal the text and pretend he wrote it. He becomes the bright new star of French literature. Everyone is now eagerly anticipating his second novel, and as each day passes and pressure mounts, Mathieu plunges ever deeper into a criminal spiral of lies in order to keep his dark secret hidden. Mr. Makellos oder ein fast makelloser Film? Ich bin beeindruckt von der ausgeklügelten und überraschenden Handlung, die nicht abwartet und den Zuschauer in den Film hineinzieht. Zugegeben, es gibt ein paar komische Szenen außerhalb des Thrillers, aber ich sehe das nicht als Problem. Französische Filme sind immer noch lohnenswert. Ich bin froh, dass ich diese pikante Entdeckungsreise in die Gedankenwelt des Schriftstellers auf dem französischen Filmfestival sehen konnte, das die richtige Atmosphäre eines französischen Abends heraufbeschwor, da die schöne französische Sprache vom Publikum durch das Kino getragen wurde. Ich und die Umgebung waren sehr zufrieden.

Several films have already been made about a struggling writer who, due to a chance opportunity, appropriates someone else's manuscript and passes it off as their own. The filmmakers did a commendable job in this thriller, effectively sustaining suspense until the rather unexpected conclusion. Pierre Niney, who played the ambitious young man more than convincingly, is certainly worth mentioning.

A good thriller that resonates with me because of the writer in the main role. What is such a writer willing to do to become successful? And how does he act when confronted with the fact that he cheated? A Perfect Man is a good, suspenseful, albeit somewhat alibi-driven and predictable alternative.
