Sie kam nachts, war ein wenig amüsant, hat das Publikum geärgert und bereitete die Szene in Form einer tollen Atmosphäre vor. Sie ging für eine Weile weg, machte eine Pause für eine Lobotomie. Das war aber nicht genug, also nahm sie einen Stein und schlug sich damit mehrmals in den Kopf. Und die Autoren haben ordentlich das Publikum verarscht. Ich denke, so könnte man es zusammenfassen, oder wie man von einer brillanten schwarzen Komödie, die einen erschaudern lässt, zu einem völlig unglaublichen, bizarren und dummen Arthouse-Film in Form des letzten Aktes kommt. Ich musste mich sehr zusammenreißen, um nicht einen Stern weniger zu geben, denn so wütend habe ich das Kino schon lange nicht mehr verlassen. Eine wirklich vergeudete Chance, aus einem unerwarteten und unterhaltsamen Thema eine gute Pointe zu machen.

This is a minimalist treat that will get under your skin, just like the central soundtrack. Afire is a game of relationships, professional crisis, and melancholy at the same time. You may hate Leon, but I loved him precisely because of who he was. Nadja will enchant you with her approach to life and spontaneity. Each additional character has something to offer. It is truly a sensitive matter that will touch you, just like a forest fire that is approaching uncontrollably.

Gropiusstadt 2003 is a rough place where the rules don't work. If you don't steal it, you don't have it. It's a demanding and realistic portrayal of the lives of a group of boys who are trying to get through life, even though obstacles are constantly thrown at them. Levy Rico Arcos was absolutely accurate and vivid in his debut. I can't imagine how tough these kids must have had it. The script has no dull moments, and it's funny and cruel at the same time. The camera enhances the film's unrelenting pace and the music is packed with energy.

This was a crazy ride from start to finish. The entire movie theater had a great time, but you have to be prepared for a slightly specific type of German humor and eccentric characters. I completely fell in love with the main character, Annika, and her manager at the market. The film, with its large dose of colorful, dark, and absurdist humor, provides a sharp reflection of today's society and people who are not exactly role models. I highly recommend it.

A very successful story that depicts the real relationship of two men from the barracks. It was a quality spectacle both in terms of acting and visually. The only thing that bothered me a little was the prominent space for the cold military environment and the minimalist approach to the romantic relationship between Eismayer and Falak. The story wasn't fully complete for me and remained slightly superficial. I would definitely welcome more depth between the characters and wouldn't be afraid to slightly extend the runtime.

A difficult story that Rabiye Kurnaz and her son had to experience. It could have been a very demanding drama if it had not been lightened up by the comedic art of the main actress Meltem Kaptan, who gave the character true life and this is exactly how I would imagine a Turkish mother, whose mission is to take care of her family. At the same time, the creators managed to find a harmonious balance between drama and comedy. The only thing that was slightly lacking for me was a greater depth in the relationship between the mother and the eldest imprisoned son, and also the pace, which started to slow down after the first hour of the film, to the point where I thought about cutting it in the editing room and nothing would happen. It deserves a better 3 stars. I really enjoyed the story and portrayal of the characters, but the execution was rough in some places.

For me, this is the best Czech film of 2023. This unassuming relationship drama with a crime plot is a true uplift for Czech cinema. An absolutely brilliant film in every aspect. The performances of the main trio, perfect music, camera, and script are without any weak points. Based on the previews, I had certain expectations, but the film completely demolished them and raised them much higher. The resolution of the plot is somewhat predictable from the second half of the film, but it's nothing that would spoil the overall impression for me. This achievement definitely deserves more attention. The concept and plot are original, and it certainly has a chance to captivate a pan-European audience.

The film is excellently shot and I only have small objections to the individual durations of certain scenes. The main actors are also good and there is chemistry between them, but what brings the film down for me is that it is filmed too realistically. This is how the story would actually happen. It is so real. The problem is that this simply does not work on the movie screen. Unadorned reality is suitable for a documentary, not for a romantic drama that is also predictable from beginning to end and lacks any surprising moment, twist, or deviation. The film becomes very slow and boring after the halfway point because it follows its own tracks, very slow tracks with a lagging pace.

Absolutely unnecessary, colored, and cluttered nothingness. An exhausting, empty film with annoying characters that have even more annoying dialogues. The forced humor didn't work at all, and the scenes are so kitschy that they are theatrical. The only positive and remarkable thing is that so many A-list actors were in this.

Eine gelungene schwarze Komödie über einen Narzissten, der außer Kontrolle gerät und so viel Schaden anrichtet, wie er nur kann. Inhaltlich, schauspielerisch und musikalisch gibt es nichts zu bemängeln. Den größten Minuspunkt würde ich im Tempo sehen, das am Anfang wie eine Wippe war, dann beruhigte es sich bis zum Punkt der Langeweile, und gegen Ende ging es wieder unnötig schnell bergab. Das Drehbuch war stellenweise undicht, aber die treffenden humorvollen Bemerkungen sind zu verschmerzen. Unterm Strich eine leicht überdurchschnittliche Arbeit, aber die Norweger können es besser.
