An old woman in her eighties, Felissa, is slowly wandering through a labyrinth of sterile hospital hallways while her husband, Antonio, is being taken from one examination to another. Due to their advanced age and long medical records, they are increasingly dependent on each other; at the same time, they don't want to burden one another. The prospect of losing independence scares them more than anything, perhaps except loneliness. When Felissa and Antonio leave the suffocating hospital atmosphere and travel home through the airy snow-covered Catalonian countryside, the audience feels relieved together with them. They are returning home; but how much longer will they be able to stay there? Director Hermes Paralluelo has taken his austere yet immensely impressive style, which Bratislava festivalgoers first witnessed two years ago in his debut, Yatasto, to a new level. In order to gain absolute over light and composition, he deploys elements of stage play and veils the protagonists, who are in fact his own grandparents, in chiaroscuro. (IFF Bratislava)
