Martina alias Shakira grew up in an orphanage. She has never met her biological parents and her fantasies about life were mostly the result of watching TV shows. The day of her 18th birthday means the whole world to her – it's a ticket to the dream life. She's heading towards it with money in a pocket, amulet necklace from her friend and with head full of naive ideas. She is planning to go to the big city with her love, Roman, who introduces her to his strange crew and sells her as a prostitute. (MFF Cinematik Piešťany)

Little Feather wants to be a raw social drama, but in order to achieve the effectiveness of the Dardenne brothers' works or the emotional impact of British socially critical films, the creators would have to significantly improve both the script and the direction. The supporting characters are shallow, the acting performances uneven, and the scenes of sexual slavery unnecessarily literal, with an apparent effort to shock the viewer and potential festival jury with shocking, drastic shots. The presence and commitment of the original Dominika Zeleníková is a positive, but if I were ever willing to consider giving it three stars, the final seven minutes are so disarming that in the end, the author duo can be thankful for my overall impression of 40%. The ending of the film shifts what has been seen before to a completely different narrative plane. I wouldn't look for comedy in it, but rather a loss of authorial judgment...

Ich stelle mir die Frage, warum der niedlichen und sympathischen Dominika Zeleníková in Filmen ständig jemand wehtun muss. Ich bin schon zum zweiten Mal Zeuge dessen, wie sie grausamer und brutaler Gewalt ausgesetzt ist. Und dabei stehen hinter der Kamera keine Männer, sondern Frauen. Seltsam. Auf jeden Fall ein äußerst roher, naturalistischer und künstlerisch sehr gut gemachter Streifen über eine unangenehme Realität und einen Teufelskreis, aus dem man wirklich nur durch ein Wunder ausbrechen kann.
