Closer to God is a good film in the sense that it makes you think. Or at least it should make you think. The story here is pretty simple, and you kind of know how it's going to end. But that's not its strength. The strength lies in how the crowd is depicted here, one you wouldn't want to be a part of. And maybe you are. And you don't even realize it. One more reason to escape into the woods and forget about humanity.
