Lilas flees from Paris to New York to establish herself as a video artist. But life in New York is not easy. Broke and without a place to sleep, she meets musician Leeward, who offers her to stay with his family in their small apartment... Maggie? Rainbow? Leeward and Mary cannot even agree on their three year old daughter's name anymore. Mary is a hardworking nurse who dreams of only one thing: changing her life. She resents her husband for being an irresponsible, overgrown adolescent incapable of holding down a job. Leeward is an atypical, idealistic musician who fancies himself a misunderstood artist and a New Age visionary. Enter Lilas, a 19 year old French artist and the daughter of a world famous painter, who is trying to make it in New York and get away from an overbearing mother. When the bubbly young woman moves into the couple's tiny Chinatown apartment, their already fragile balance is upset even further. (Verleiher-Text)

Englisch A movie about artists, what else do you want? The best part was that scene towards the end of the movie where the unfortunate artist from France gets to the studio and walks among all the artists who are so naked when working you wouldn’t believe. I also liked the guy who was painting hanging upside down, or that artist chick who had the canvas at a distance and painted on it by shooting arrows at balloons filled with paint. Andy Warhol who?
