Jacob (Anton Yelchin) kehrt in seine trostlose Heimatstadt zurück und stellt fest, dass sein kindhafter Bruder Buddy (Chris Marquette) für eine berüchtigte Gang arbeitet. Der skrupellose Boss dieser Gang (Vincent D'Onofrio) hat Buddys einfaches Gemüt dazu ausgenutzt, ihn zu einem gnadenlosen Killer zu machen. Jacob erkennt, dass er nur eine Chance hat, Buddy zu retten, wenn er die Gang von innen heraus zerschlägt. It's a drama, which is quite common nowadays, and it unfolds at a slow pace, but additionally, it has a bit of a cowboy style to it, although not overly so. It's a pity that this film tries to claim it could be the successor to The Godfather, but it lacks any significant prerequisites for that, from the screenplay to the direction and even the actors in the anticipated roles.
