I don't know what everyone praises here, because although the psychological profile of the lead detective is beautifully done in contrast to the killer, the rest of season 1 isn't really worth talking about. Those five hours of drawn out boredom in which NOTHING happens bored me to death, and although the last episode finally got going and I'm interested to see how it all plays out, I'm not sure I can handle another ten hours at this pace and if I'd rather not do a recap. On the other hand, for fans of slowburn, oppressive, realistic and authentic crime thrillers who are more concerned with psychological gameplay than "making things happen", this is actually the thing to do, so I guess I can understand the higher rating. This was my first encounter with a Northern Irish series. At first, I thought it would be a waste of time and it did get boring sometimes, but then it suddenly picked up momentum, the atmosphere became ominous, the characters got depth and I couldn't tear myself away from the story until the end. It’s excellently written, and the individual characters are well-portrayed. I was satisfied except for the slow start. ()
