Ein Film, in dem mit dem Tod der "Hauptfigur" alles erst so richtig anfängt. Ein ausgezeichneter Science-Fiction-Film mit einer Idee, auf der man hervorragend einen dramaturgischen Bogen der Emotionen, der Überraschungen sowie der ununterbrochenen Spannung bauen kann. Plus eine effektvolle Action. Eine dystopische Welt mit einem totalitären System und einer beinahe faschistischen Grausamkeit. Starke Negativgestalten an der Spitze mit der unheimlich kalten Glenn Close, ihrem "perfekten SS-General" und einer effektvollen Visage der Kommandomitglieder. Eine Pattsituation der Hauptheldinnen, die Noomi Rapace toll dargestellt hat. Gore und Sex. Tommy Wirkola hat alle Genre-Kolleg*innen in die Tasche gesteckt! PS: Das Finale war ein bisschen unglaubwürdig und zu kompliziert. Deshalb bekommt der Film von mir keinen fünften Stern.

The idea was good, but it was handled reprehensibly. The whole plot and the twist were as embarrassing as Glenn Close's botox. The only thing keeping it afloat is Noomi’s performance, but unfortunately she tried her best in a crappy movie. The last quarter of an hour is like a bad parody, does anyone still enjoy these copycat movie endings?

The rating is based solely on the fact that every minute of the relatively generous run was a lot fun (which, by the way, is the most important thing when watching a movie). And also despite the fact that every twist can be seen a mile away, and that this dystopian sci-fi flick is as intelligent as you can expect from the director of the zombie splatter Dead Snow and Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters.

One of those dystopian sci-fi flicks with many aspects that deserve criticism. But thanks to the premise and to how well it is made, you will quickly forgive all its shortcomings and you will enjoy the overcrowded world that a female dictator is trying to regulate. Noomi Rapace’s acting performance is out of this world. Probably similar to James McAvoy’s work in Split last year. I would never have thought that a single actress could create a different set of emotions for each of the seven characters that she plays in this film. It’s pretty clear she is in charge of this sci-fi movie. And since she is a pleasure to behold, it is a pleasure to watch the entire movie as well.

Wirkola hat diese sprichwörtlichen Pferde so weit wie möglich solide kutschiert, obwohl 7x Noomi am Set zu haben nach Kopfschmerzen riecht und es soll nicht heißen, dass man das Gespiele in die Leere manchmal nicht fühlen würde. Es ist schade, dass die Drehbuchautoren Botkin und Williamson aus dem vollmundigen Stoff ein so spärliches Kuddelmuddel sauren Geschmacks kreiert haben, dessen logische Kikse der Regisseur notgedrungen mit B-Movie-Elementen retten muss (Spaß). Insgesamt handelt es sich um eine bizarre Mischung aus dem Equilibrium, dem neuen Total Recall mit dem zweiten Aufguss von Minority Report und den Children of Men, wobei das Ganze zu dessen Nachteil ungefähr so intelligent ist wie das Erstgenannte. Dementsprechend handelt es sich um ein logisches Sieb, das an einem Kopfschuss leidet. Wer die Pointe nicht eine Stunde vor Filmende erkennt, sollte mal in die Kältekammer. Das hier hätte Andrew Niccol machen sollen und damit wärs´ gegessen gewesen. Als abendliches Beruhigungsmittel jedoch OK.

A lively sci-fi movie with abundant gory moments. Unexpected… until I realized that it was filmed by that sadist Wirkola. The overall concept of the world and this time around the baddies have good intentions. The surprising outcomes and twists work excellently. It's just a shame that the nearer the film gets to the end, the less logical it becomes. Still a great result with such a small budget.

At first glance, an attempt at something fresh and new, plus drawing on the tried-and-true, with a repressive regime like Hunger Games and angular futuristic cars like The Island. It can be argued that the visual opulence is a bit low-key and that 2073 looks more like 2037, but what can be done for half the budget of a major blockbuster? The B-movie casting (with the exception of two names) is also hard to disparage. Unlike Glenn Close, who is off, Noomi Rapace does a good job again. Firstly, as an action heroine against her will and secondly, portraying 7 different characters is probably not very easy, plus the fact that only Charlize Theron can play such a physical role of a "male heroine" today. Except for the last 20 minutes we have a pretty decent mix of Bourne and something with a gloomy social post-apocalyptic atmosphere. The ending is botched and the twist predictable.

Was gibt es Schöneres, als ein Film mit Noomi Rapace? Ein Film, wo Noomi Rapace siebenmal ist. Und wenn der Film originell, schwungvoll, unterhaltsam und überraschend ist und tolle Tricks hat, werde ich ihm wegen ein paar Momenten, in denen ich verwundert die Augenbrauen hochgezogen habe, nicht böse sein (ein typisches Beispiel – die Sprays in der Mikrowelle und das, wie genau eine Minute reicht, damit sie explodieren).

Katzen haben neun Leben, Karen Settman hat sieben, und jedes davon ist ein komplettes Original. Was geschah am Montag? beruht auf einer originellen Idee und stützt sich auf die Leistungen von Noomi Rapace, die es schafft, sieben identischen und doch so unterschiedlichen Schwestern Leben einzuhauchen. Die Überbevölkerung des Planeten ist auch heute noch ein heißes Thema, und die Filmemacher haben es geschafft, eine ziemlich solide Handlung um dieses Thema herum aufzubauen. Dank der Jagd nach den sieben Schwestern mangelt es dem Film nicht an Spannung und er unterhält über die gesamte Dauer. Was das Drehbuch betrifft, so gibt es einige gute Wendungen, von denen einige vorhersehbar waren, einige aber auch ziemlich überraschend sind. Ein Pluspunkt ist die Beteiligung von Glenn Close und Willem Dafoe, die fast immer eine präzise Leistung garantieren. Schwächere, aber immer noch vier Sterne.

One Noomi Rapace in the film would be enough for me, so I wasn't all that excited about seeing her in multiple roles. In the end, it turned out my concerns were unnecessary, even though the difference between the sisters was mostly just the hairstyle. I was pleased about the film's decent atmosphere and tension. The premise was interesting, the action wasn't bad either and Glenn Close was a great choice for the role. True, the gaping logic holes were sometimes almost terrifying (Get out of my way or else I'll shoot him with a gun that only works in his hand.), but despite many reservations I had a pretty good time, so 4*-.
