Englisch A very nice example of a documentary series originally intended for the American commercial television market. This is reflected in the overall format, i.e., the typical focus on emotions and the stories of individual soldiers, rather than on the largest amount of information possible. Because similar series are designed with multiple ad placements in mind, there will be a break after a few minutes, during which the same shots and the same commentary sentences are repeated. If you are a fan of history or even military history, this type of program has no practical meaning for you, but for school-age children, for example, it is a good choice as they receive a basic amount of information about who, when, and what the result was. Moreover, they can admire beautifully animated dances, explosions, and large-scale destruction, as well as heartfelt sentences from veterans such as "It was hell," "I couldn't even breathe because of the tension," and so on. I dislike the careless commentary on similar projects, where one sentence that claims something is negated by another one within a minute, claiming the opposite - see the case of Prokhorovka: "The battle was intensifying and the German units clearly felt that they were winning." Two sentences later, without any explanation of the change, the commentary continues: "The field was filled with destroyed German machinery. The destruction of the German army was complete." Overall impression: 40%. ()
