This pulling of strings in the White House is by no means essential. But the big fuss around the unassuming Zoe is much more interesting and relevant to the whole plot in the coming episodes; this promising journalist is more than meets the eye. One of the few episodes that doesn't revolve around a character, but is no less important for the depth of those around.
