Dass man es als Nerd an der Highschool nicht leicht hat, weiß der 17-jährige Carson aus eigener Erfahrung nur zu gut. Deshalb gilt für ihn auch nur eins: schnellstmöglich weg von zu Hause und endlich aufs College. Mit dem Aufbau einer Schülerzeitung will er die Chancen für seinen Traum vom Journalismus-Studium verbessern. Doch ihm fehlt die nötige Unterstützung der populären Mitschüler und Lehrer. I am not sure if the creators made the right choice with the premise. This story and the movie might actually really piss some people off. If not the movie, then the main character, the boy who thinks that he is different. He is a smart-ass and tries to distinguish himself from the rest of the kids at school. The calm comes with the first scene where a lightning bolt strikes the boy and he dies on the spot. I don’t know if it is ethically okay to begin a movie with this, but on the other hand, at least you know where you stand and can at least guess how the movie is going to end. With respect to the story and the main character, I can’t say I liked the movie. Quite the contrary.
