Homeland

Homeland drew me in from the very first episode and, to my own surprise, it has kept my enthusiasm high over 60 episodes. I suppose it's because it's so incredibly good. I originally wanted to skip it altogether, expecting a tsunami of patriotism and melodrama, but I was pleasantly surprised. Sure, the terrorists are the bad guys (and rightly so), but even the good guys aren't exactly all good and aren't portrayed as the standard relatable characters at all times. Damian Lewis is excellent as always, Claire Danes is absolutely superb, and the script is so good that after each season I can't wait for the next one to start. Edit: After finishing Season 8 and the whole series, my initial enthusiasm has somewhat waned. The creators gradually deviated from their original course. I even felt that they had completely lost their way more than once, which was most evident in the drop in quality in Season 7 and the Disney finale in season eight. Despite these quibbles, I still consider Homeland to be a great show that I enjoyed most of the time. (07.08.2016)

Season 1 is an awesome espionage treat. Claire Danes and Damian Lewis seem really natural in their roles. I really appreciate it because casting the wrong person can completely ruin an otherwise excellent film/series for me. I'm not a fan of Mandy Patinkin, but he was perfect as Saul. Both the premise and the writing is excellent so the story got me hooked right from the start. If you think I'm being too uncritical of the series, you're probably right. (28.11.2017)

It rarely happens that I am sure after the first episode of a series that I will like it, but this time the creators managed to convince me of that. I was pleased with the casting of the individual characters, the theme, and its execution in the form of the script, and I am looking forward to seeing how everything will develop in the next episodes. The plot of the third episode did not focus as much on the main characters anymore, the creators developed a side story around the Saudi prince and made it clear that the series might not appeal to all American patriots, considering how the CIA treats the expendability of its sources. (26.11.2017)

I was very satisfied with the fifth episode, I just wouldn't recommend watching it for paranoid people as their condition could significantly worsen. After all, even I noticed something suspicious about that man when I took a quick look in the mirror... (27.11.2017)

The seventh episode slowed down in such a way that I began to suspect complete calmness and thought that the creators somehow forgot and focused only on the physical pleasure of the main characters. However, in the end, it turned out that I would have received a lot of new information if the script hadn't covered it up with a thick fog. So, to sum it up, it was an excellent biological-meteorological episode. (27.11.2017)

The ninth episode continued what the eighth one started. It brought more light into the plot, so what could be only speculated was clarified. I enjoy the fact that the creators didn't play the series unilaterally, they don't divide everything into black and white, I would rather say that the season has been dominated by gray so far. In the tenth episode, the creators revealed another one of their intentions and I had a good time again. I generally enjoy spy movies and series, but it is visible that the original designation of these stories should change: with a dagger and a cloak. Nowadays, it would be more fitting: with a drone and a notebook. (27.11.2017)

In the eleventh episode, the last part of the plot, which had remained a mystery until now, was revealed. The creators did not engage in any action sequences, but focused on the psyche of the two main characters, and particularly in Carrie's case, it was a very interesting and intense excursion. The final episode surprised me with its feature film length, but I have to admit that every minute was worth it. From the opening "home" video, the tense atmosphere was maintained until the electrifying end, and the creators continued to delve into the psyche of both main characters. Unlike the previous episode, the way Sergeant Brody thinks had a greater impact on me this time, his Hamlet-like hesitation was brilliant. (28.11.2017)

I was as satisfied with the second season as I was with the first. Claire Danes doesn’t have to work hard to convince me that her character has a mental disorder. All it takes for her is to goggle her eyes. Damian Lewis was his usual flawless self. Plus, I have a new favorite character – Peter Quinn. I hope he stays on the show. I also wish Fahrid Murray Abraham got more space. Dar Adal would definitely deserve it. (29.11.2017)

Interesting, I have already seen the third episode of the second season and so far I haven't come across an episode in the series that would only function as filler. This time, it wasn't about action-packed spectacle, but I found a lot of interesting moments, so I had a great time again. It also never occurred to me that being a tailor should be classified as a particularly dangerous profession. (28.11.2017)

The creators evidently decided to create the fifth episode in an intimate, or rather cellar-like, atmosphere, and they succeeded in creating a really nice, psychological affair. If I forget about Quinn's "fish," there was no action this time, but in my opinion, it was one of the most interesting episodes. (29.11.2017)

The previous episode made a stronger impression on me, but I was still satisfied this time. It is not clear to me yet what purpose the storyline of Danka's accident serves, perhaps it will become part of something bigger because it seems unnecessary on its own. Fortunately, there was still a lot of intrigue this time and there was also an action moment in Gettysburg, so for me it was good. 5*. (29.11.2017)

The seventh episode is practically on the same level as the previous episode. I take back my objections to the storyline with the car accident, in the end it turned out that the creators know what they are doing, unlike me, when I pretend to be intelligent and talk about things I know nothing about. An interesting excursion into the life of a person whose everything gradually collapsed and who can choose between two certainties - a lifetime with the good ones or death by the bad ones. The episode had an excellent, gradually intensifying atmosphere and the creators played quite well with the tension, so I was completely satisfied. (29.11.2017)

I find myself in a complex situation, I would really like to criticize, but the creators of Homeland have not yet provided me with enough opportunities. Once again, I was satisfied with the plot of the episode, I was pleased with the passage dedicated to Peter Quinn, and the ending was excellent. (29.11.2017)

No, one thing is certain, sensitive souls with a nice relationship to people, other fauna and flora should probably skip this series, otherwise it could badly distort their illusions. Intrigues were again happening cheerfully, mistrust was growing, people disappeared, and things were happening. Sometimes it may not be a bad thing to be able to just switch someone off, without staining the carpets. (29.11.2017)

In the eleventh episode, it was clear that the end of the second season was approaching, events were gaining intensity, the atmosphere reached the density of sweetened condensed milk, and the complexity knew no limits. Even in such chaos, the creators reserved time to resolve personal problems of some characters, and it was definitely worth it. (29.11.2017)

In the final episode of the second season, the story evolved from an idyll to a massacre, it was such an explosive romance. The plot was as full of intrigue and events as in the previous episode, and I assume that in the next season there will be a change of setting, considering how many characters have left the scene.
