In "Hawaii Five-0" geht eine Eliteeinheit der Polizei auf Verbrecherjagd, und zwar auf den sonnenverwöhnten Inseln von Hawaii. Die Gouverneurin von Hawaii beauftragt Steve McGarrett, einen angesehenen Marineoffizier, mit der Bildung einer Spezialeinheit, um für Recht und Ordnung zu sorgen. Er nimmt diese Herausforderung an, weil er dadurch seinem Ziel, den Mord an seinem Vater aufzuklären, immer näherkommt. (kabel eins)

Pilot: Shoddy work. I expected this to be B-movie standard in terms of story, but not that the dialogs and wise-cracks would so awful. Miserable directing, cut dad dies, cut getting to know you, cut new unit, cut action finale. A miserable villain - couldn’t they have rethought this so that Norman Reedus could be the main one? The main protagonist is unlikeable. Luckily the other team members are much better and the surfer cousin is a real fox. Pretty accomplished action, although sometimes awfully confusing and the best shots are those of the beach, Hawaii at sunset, at sunrise, or even just in the day or in the night. I’ll give it one more chance and I’ll take the pilot as a compulsory introduction, if rather disappointing... It’s getting better. At last it has gained and maintains a good tempo.
