Eli (Michel Blanc) erwartet mit seiner neuen Frau ein Kind – und das mit 60 Jahren. Diese Tatsache überrascht milde gesagt seine beiden erwachsenen Töchter Dom und Justine (Mélanie Laurent). Um sich Justine, mit der er nie ein sonderlich gutes Verhältnis hatte, anzunähern, ist Eli bemüht, sich mit ihren Exfreunden anzufreunden. Das erweist sich als keine sonderlich gute Idee. A typical sixties drama. Mélanie Laurent is this movie’s best feature. Whenever she appears, it’s always a great pleasure to watch her. In fact, she was the only reason I didn’t take my eyes off the movie. On the other hand, it’s a French film with the biggest product placement I’ve ever seen. Not even the soap-operas on Czech TV channels are quite as thick-skinned. The first scene taking place in Starbucks just knocked me down. The best thing was how all the companies that paid for advertising in this film had their logos visible literally from all angles. As a drama, however, this film is a total classic. It would have been quite boring without Mélanie.
