Corrine heiratete vor 17 Jahren ihren Onkel und wurde daraufhin von ihrem Vater verstoßen und enterbt. Nach dem Tod ihres Ehemannes muss sie mit ihren 4 Kindern Not gezwungen zu ihren Eltern ziehen. Diese sind sehr wohlhabend und leben in einem großen Herrenhaus auf dem Land. Corrines Eltern akzeptieren die Kinder nicht und sperren sie auf dem Dachstuhl ein.
