Englisch Chekhov lovers will forgive it, but the play itself is nothing extravagant, let alone this loud staging of it. The three stars are only due to the great actors (Jiřina Jirásková and Viktor Preiss in particular, I wouldn't put Dagmar Havlová in this group) and Michal Pavlíček's music. A very long performance, with the director trying to inject blood into its veins with a string of hysterical scenes and overacting, and it just didn't work. ()
