Angetrieben von billigem Whisky und Gier möchte Willie mit seinem Kumpan Marcus (TONY COX) am Weihnachtsabend eine Wohltätigkeitsveranstaltung in Chicago ausrauben. Wieder mit von der Partie ist der mollige und drollige Thurman Merman (BRETT KELLY), ein 125 Kilo schwerer Sonnenschein, der es als einer der wenigen schafft, ein Stück Menschlichkeit in Willie hervorzubringen.
Als sich Willies Mutter Sunny Soke (KATHY BATES), den beiden anschließt, beginnen die Probleme: Während Sunny versucht, die illegale Karriere der Bande anzukurbeln, steht sie deren kriminellen Fähigkeiten leider massiv im Weg. Auch Willies neustes Objekt der Begierde, die kurvige und eher prüde Wohltätigkeitsdirektorin Diane (CHRISTINA HENDRICKS) mit einem Herz aus Gold und einer Libido aus Stahl, sorgt für so manche Komplikation.

The original Bad Santa entertained me with its political incorrectness. And I am not sure why, but I quite liked this instalment as well. Although I’ve tried to read different opinions in the reviews on this site to understand why the second instalment fell into such disgrace, I have to admit, I still do not understand why it should be that way. The only argument which seemed relatively justifiable was that the second instalment was far less funny. But I don't fully agree. I’ve laughed quite a bit. Billy Bob Thornton was once again great and the actresses around him were great as well. As a result, I’ve laughed a lot plus there was something to look at. Sure, the film is not for everyone, but that was the same with the first instalment.

Santa is still a pervert, but so is his mom. The film relies on Kathy Bates, who is absolutely fantastic. Otherwise, it's just the same as the first film, only Billy Bob is a bit more familiar, and the crime plot is simply boring because it unfolds in well-trodden paths. Beyond that, it's still beautifully politically incorrect in places. And that's about it.
