Das Pärchen Zakes und Beth ist nachts mit dem Auto auf einer regennassen Straße unterwegs. Plötzlich glaubt Zakes im weißen LKW vor ihnen, mit dem er kurz zuvor fast kollidiert wäre, eine Frau gesehen zu haben, die nackt und blutend in einem Käfig im Laderaum gefangen ist. Als er während eines Streits mit Beth an der nächsten Raststätte hält, ist seine Freundin urplötzlich verschwunden. Another small, low-key British horror thriller and a very good and tense one at that. It’s closest to Anderson’s Joy Ride (the mystery surrounding the character of the dangerous driver is similar), but to give a better idea, I would also compare it to the first story of the recent Amusement, though I should also mention that Hush is the film I liked the most. The atmosphere builds up nicely and, even though it uses horror motifs seen many times over (a chase among crates…), it works brilliantly and the climax (said chase among crates) actually made me feel scared. The only problem it has is the awful British accent that made me doubt the mental soundness of the protagonist.
