Blind Side – Die große Chance

Ich habe etwas anderes erwartet, ich hatte falsche und irreführende Informationen über den gesamten Film, aber das hat dem endgültigen Eindruck nicht geschadet. Die sehr rührende Geschichte, die auf wahren Begebenheiten basiert, hat in mir positive Emotionen hervorgerufen. Ich verstehe nur nicht, warum Sandra Bullock ausgezeichnet wurde. Ich beschäftige mich damit noch nach dem Ende des Films und kann es nicht verstehen. Ja, es handelt sich um eine andere Rolle als in all den Komödien und Thrillern, in denen sie nur lächelt oder sich vor etwas fürchtet, aber ob es eine großartige Leistung war, scheint mir fraglich. Zumindest haben mich die Konkurrentinnen Meryl Streep und Carrey Mulligan mehr verzaubert. Damit will ich jedoch nicht herabsetzen, was Sandra Bullock gezeigt hat und wie sie mit der Rolle einer hartnäckigen und entschlossenen Frau umgegangen ist, die einen talentierter Menschen vor einem schrecklichen Schicksal gerettet hat. The script, somehow very Americanized, doesn't allow me to believe that something like this could really happen. The whole thing is extremely idealized and desperately predictable. It seems to me like a sports fairy tale for children and adults, which is nice to look at, but that's all. (50%) (04.01.2021)

The Pursuit of Happiness on steroids, only that instead of the stock exchange, we have rugby. It's clear that overweight middle-class Americans, who are blindly full of the right values, with a preference for the simplest and most understandable (i.e., literally as stupid as possible), loved this and went to the cinema in droves. But comprehensively speaking, this "how it's supposed to look" commercial has neither a dramatic arc nor a hallmark of realism. It's all too stilted, straightforward and uncomplicated, going for a simple level start-finish. But individuals who have to fight for something more than the standard in life know very well that this is not exactly how it works. Sandra Bullock's acting is very economical and spot on – her interactions with the characters, on the other hand, are fantasy. (10.09.2015)

Sandra Bullock's role of a lifetime. A strong mother with emotion, love, and courage. A beautiful story about how being great doesn't mean being confident. The first half of the film was very moving, the second half, when everything was all about football, was a bit weaker in my opinion. (29.10.2010)
