New Orleans nach Katrina: Detective Sean ist fix und fertig, sein Sohn ist tot und seine Ehe kaputt. Auch beruflich läuft es nicht gut. Sean bekommt allerdings noch eine Chance, sich zu bewähren: Als Mann fürs Grobe soll mit dem jungen Will eine Serie von brutalen Straßenmorden aufklären. Johnny Strong is awesome! The action is uncompromising and the overall vibe of the film is insane. Something so off the rails hasn't been seen in a long time. The realities of the big city seem to not exist, everything looks like one big fighting arena where police officers, blacks, gangsters, drug dealers, lunatics, junkies, skinheads, hired killers, etc. are pitted against each other. An excellent way to unwind.
