Der Chirurg Dr. Paul Kersey (Bruce Willis) erlebt die Folgen der Gewalt auf den Straßen Chicagos jeden Tag in der Notaufnahme – bis seine Frau (Elisabeth Shue) und seine Tochter (Camila Morrone) in den eigenen vier Wänden brutal attackiert werden. Da die örtliche Polizei die Ermittlungen nicht vorantreibt und generell von der Verbrechensflut in der Stadt überfordert scheint, beschließt Paul das Gesetz kurzerhand selbst in die Hand zu nehmen. Unbreakable - Unzerbrechlich für Anspruchslose und ohne Fantasie. Ein Remake ohne Idee und Charakter. Auch Willis passt nicht zum Film. Die Rolle vom Chefarzt, welcher nach einem Abend in der Garage besser schießen kann als Profi-Gangster, glaubt man ihm einfach nicht. Die Morde sind hart, als eine Art Katharsis bei der Vollstreckung der Gerechtigkeit. Wenn dann die Gerechtigkeit vollzogen ist, hinkt das Ausmaß der Katharsis. Die Negativgestalten sind nämlich uninteressant und nicht ausgearbeitet.

Paul Kersey's wife lost her life in an attack and his daughter ended up in hospital. Paul believes the police will catch the criminals soon, but for now they are on the run. So he decides to get a gun and deal with the criminals on his own. This new version of the thriller classic is an enjoyable action flick that relies on solid gunfights, blood and the ever charismatic Bruce Willis. However, as soon as they attempt psychology and serious drama, it stops working. Fortunately, they don't do that very often, it probably couldn't have turned out much better.

I'm satisfied and I'm glad that five years after Red 2 Bruce Willis made again a decent movie from my favorite genre, revenge. Story-wise it doesn't bring anything new to the table, but it's a ride from start to finish, decently acted, pleasantly gory, with one solid gore scene and an intense home invasion where the emotions soar to 160 degrees. I had a great time. Eli Roth, Bruce Willis and old-school revenge, I like this triple combo. 80%.

A meaningless remake without any significant directorial signature or any attempt to make the viewer's experience more interesting. A revenge motif, handled in the classic way with all the clichés. There's action and violence here and there, which is primordially expressive, as Roth always does, and Bruce Willis, who plays a stodgy, lifeless doctor and is unfortunately quite good at it. I wanted to say that it’s good to watch once, but actually not, better ignore it. Standard work for a revenge movie.
