Englisch Silent Hill the game is a hit game with a great atmosphere. As for the movies based on this game, the first instalment is acceptable and the second one is weaker, as usual. There’s nothing really bad about it, but it ends in the same bad way as the previous instalment and it begins the way it ends, so even though there’s a lot going on in the film, the ending is pretty much the same as in the first instalment and I’m curious if they follow up on that. The premise is good, the atmosphere too, but somehow what they did with the story as a whole seems off. It’s a pity. It would need some crazy person to get on board with it like Paul W.S. Anderson did with Resident Evil. ()

Englisch I was slowly beginning to pigeonhole Bassett as a future horror talent, but after those successful low-budget flicks, I didn't expect this sort of failure in the big leagues. At first glance, everything is fine, because it's the same old Silent Hill as last time, with fancy sets, good special effects, a show of makeup skills... but there’s absolutely nothing on top of all that. It’s a routine copy of Gans' vision, which even after 6 years still stands as the best big screen adaptation of the game. In this film, Bassett fails to provide a single original idea of his own, and it’s quite a cold shower because I believe other ambitious filmmakers would sell their own grandmothers for this stuff. The question is how much Konami had let him do his own thing when writing the script. However, showing off a few directorial tricks hasn't killed anyone yet. The desperate ending is also a minus. Next time I’d prefer muddy Czech scenery again, or deserted Irish islands... ()

Englisch After the bad reviews, I passed on the second Silent Hill at the cinema, which means I couldn’t enjoy the 3D experience and the unique chance of waving my hands in front of me and say “yeaaaah” like a moron. A real shame, though I doubt it would have changed my opinion. Silent Hill: Revelation is hands-down one of the most stupid horror films in recent years (within cinema productions). It doesn’t make any sense, it becomes more and more ridiculous with every twist, and half-way in, even the most optimistic viewer can no longer take it seriously. Awful. ()
