Englisch Not only is the lieutenant bad, but in my opinion unfortunately Herzog's entire film. Herzog is one of those directors whose results vary like contour lines in the Himalayas, and here, in my opinion, he has gone too far. He is essentially trying to do the same thing that worked brilliantly in films like Lord of War or Thank You for Smoking. That means a stylish "cool" film with a cynical anti-hero and his unique value system. But while the aforementioned titles had their unmistakable style, were compact, and not only entertained but also gave unpleasant moral lessons, this film just drags from the beginning and goes in all directions. The screenplay, the director, and unfortunately even Nicolas Cage in the lead role are responsible for it. Due to his lifestyle and horrifying debts, which he could rack up even if he owned all the oil companies together, Cage has accepted practically every offer in the last fifteen years and acted in completely nonsensical films. However, he manages to maintain a certain level, but this is the first case I can think of where he kills the film with his approach and overacting. I simply don't believe in this character and his survival in an environment that in reality would have quickly revealed his heavy drug addiction and personality breakdown. I would be willing to accept it as a pure comedy in the spirit of The Simpsons, where nobody dies thanks to incredible luck and coincidences, but not like this. This film simply isn't smart enough to sell what it intends to. Overall impression: 40%. ()

Englisch Sometimes things go right, sometimes not... Herzog shot a very pleasing old-school movie where there’s no shortage of snappy lines, dumb staring and things work out the only right way. Nick Cage is back in form and is GREAT. A perfect dumb expression, constant feet shuffling and crazy, dry laughter. Excellent. P.S.: The close-up “stoned" shots of the iguana is one of the craziest things I’ve seen this year. ()

Englisch "Špatnej polda" is a good action movie that doesn't unnecessarily rush us into action, it also tries to present us with a psychological drama revolving around the character of Lieutenant Terence. It's not a movie for everyone, it may possibly bore some people a little, after all, it's not a film that should entertain, but rather point out the problems one can get into. There are many movies about bad cops, but this one will belong to those that stand out above average. By the way, this is a film by Werner Herzog, a person who shoots everything, but such a film wouldn't be expected from him. ()
