Der junge Randy Daytona tritt als Tischtennis-Wunderkind zu den Olympischen Spielen - und scheitert kläglich. Sein Vater, der mit dem brutalen Mr. Feng auf den Sieg seines Sohnes gewettet hat, wird von dessen Männern ermordet. 19 Jahre später trifft der mittlerweile etwas übergewichtige Randy den FBI-Agenten Rodriguez. Dieser benötigt seine Hilfe als Spion, um den gefürchteten Mr. Feng dingfest zu machen. Als bekennender Pingpong-Liebhaber lädt der Unterweltboss regelmäßig die besten Tischtennisspieler zu einem Wettkampf ein. Randy verwandelt sich mit Hilfe von Chinatowns Pingpong-Meister Wong in ein Tischtennis-Ass und darf tatsächlich an Fengs Turnier teilnehmen. Doch dieses entpuppt sich als tödliche Falle... Nothing to write home about. Christopher Walken is great and half the jokes are really good, but Dan Fogler is annoying from start to finish and the other half of the jokes suck. It could have been much better, but for an hour and a half of unpretentious fun, it's pretty good.

A laid-back movie about table tennis, or in Chinese, ping pong. Christopher Walken shines again and Maggie Q is as beautiful as ever. The rest is not really worth mention.

The film "Score" tells the story of Randy Dayton, who was a promising talent, possibly the best player in the world, but he paid the price for his father's (by the way, Robert Patrick, whom I see very often now, for example in "Gangster Squad" or "Jayne Mansfield's Car") gambling addiction. His whole career goes down the drain, his dad dies, and we fast forward nineteen years to find out that Randy is a loser trying to make a living in a cabaret show. Fortunately, fate both favors and disfavors him at the same time. He gets kicked out of the show, but then a person appears who will bring him back to real table tennis, to tournaments. There is a huge tournament coming up where the truly best will be, and Randy is supposed to go there as a spy to uncover the murderer of his father, the mysterious Feng.
