Der Urlaub in einer ländlichen Idylle Irlands wird für Helena zur Hölle, als ihr Freund Martin bei einem Unfall auf einer einsamen Landstraße einen Mann überfährt. Das Unfallopfer erweist sich nämlich als ziemlich untot und als es ihrem Freund ein saftiges Stück Fleisch aus dem Hals beißt, wird ihr klar, dass das Zombie-Dasein äußerst ansteckend ist. Die gesamte Nachbarschaft ist bereits von einem mutierten Virus infiziert und die Gefahr scheint von einer Kuh auszugehen. (Verleiher-Text)

If I were to rate Dead Meat as a low-budget little horror flick, it would probably get more than three stars, but when I compare it with other zombie films, I have to moderate my enthusiasm and give it a nice 60%. The female lead is likeable enough and the film was fun when she was on the run alone, but the appearance of other (not so likeable) characters brings that impression down. But I’m still more than satisfied, it was good enough to kill a rainy afternoon in July. PS: The Irish countryside is a great horror destination.
