Englisch Since the first clip madness, a tremendously enjoyable comedy that keeps delivering one punchline after another and irresistibly and constantly poking fun at the current MTV pop. In other words, a light parody against the backdrop of Hugh Grant's unmistakable romantic cuckoo. This time, he played a compromise between the stuttering fool from Notting Hill and the bored cynic from About a Boy. Above all, he managed to establish an unprecedented chemistry with Drew Barrymore, who has matured into the sweet girl-next-door type that you would let walk into your apartment without a word. ()

Englisch Have you ever asked yourself, when you saw a picture of Sagvan Tofi in a magazine, what this has been pseudo-star from the infamous "stable" of František Janeček is actually doing today? I don’t think so, and why would you do that, right? I’ve read that he sells fridges in Greenland (copyright Klára Nemravová of Tata Bojs), but the reality is much more prosaic. In a nutshell, he attends all sorts of "high-society" parties and receptions where he gets free money, gets his picture taken with our wannabe stars and "celebrities" and prays for his photo to appear at least on the bottom of page 32 of some tabloid (just below the ad the miracle weight loss bracelet), because he doesn't want to completely fall into oblivion so he can still navigate the waters with his "fresh scripts" and "upcoming albums". Grant's Alex Fletcher experiences similar feelings, but is still infinitely better off compared to Tofi. Once a big pop star, he’s now living only from the past and, as he got older, from occasional appearances at the opening of a new mall or at CEO receptions and similar petty events. It has to be said, there aren't many actors who can interpret annoying '80s pinwheel pop stars with such grace and charm as well as Hugh Grant. Already the opening clip in the style of 80's metrosexual boy bands like ´Wham!´ will put a smile on the face of anyone who remembers that era, especially when it is presented with such a self-deprecating attitude. And if it weren't for the fact that after about half an hour the film turns into a fairly bland romance, the smile would have lasted until the end. But there is no shortage of fresh, inventive plot ideas revolving around pop-star Cora and her "custom-made" hit, so even though the era of 80's discos, colourful perms, and stereotypical synthesizer score was not my cup of tea, I give it an entertained 3*. It was both funny and witty at times. ()

Englisch It's not that there aren't titles in the romantic comedy genre that deviate from the norm and try to break the established production formula, but I dare say that it will be difficult to find a genre that has such a preserved basic scheme, in which only the names, faces, and settings alternate. Marc Lawrence is certainly not one of those who would attempt a revolution within the genre, and he relies on the tried and tested. However, I think it is a watchable film for more than just the genre fans. It's not clever, but not outright stupid either, and it has a powerful weapon in the form of Hugh Grant, for whom similar roles are a sure bet. These types of guys know how to act and do it with great charm. And Drew Barrymore is also well cast. Hugh Grant has appeared in many better films, and for Drew, this one is probably one of the most successful in her not-so-spectacular career. Pop music is naturally an easy target for irony and all kinds of jokes, but the parody of a cheesy pop romance for teenage fans in the form of a music video for the song "Pop! Goes My Heart" is flawless. For me, it gets 3 stars and a 55% overall impression. ()

Englisch Hugh Grant is for some people the one who brings some familiar actresses into his movies so that he can have some romantic relationship with them. He chooses actresses who are famous and different, so it depends on the script itself and whether the story can appeal to the audience. Hugh Grant surely charms the ladies because just one of his smiles is enough to make them melt in front of him. That is simply the gift of this handsome Englishman. However, some of the movies he has made are definitely not top-notch. Recent examples include "Morganovi," for which Hugh's partner Sarah Jessica Parker is also to blame, I personally do not like her very much. "Hudbu složil, slova napsal" is also not a romantic film that would surprise anyone significantly. It is not a romance that brings something fundamentally new because it is simply a classic story where two people who do not know each other well and only work together fall in love, one gets very disappointed, but in the end, everything turns out well, and they get back together. The quality of the film mainly lies in the fact that truly beautiful songs appear in it, with some of them being performed by the main character himself. And that is something worthy of appreciation. The melodies will capture your heart, and you will find yourself humming the lyrics. Just for the music alone, it is worth watching.
