We can try to convince ourselves that these are just individuals committing evil, that this is just a movie, but these things do happen in reality, and you hear about them daily in the news because nothing else seems to interest the reporters. News has to sell and violence sells well. This film at least tries to understand what happened and presents without pretense the kinds of monsters we can be, sometimes without even realizing it. From a filmmaking standpoint, it's not flawless, but the film's message resonates strongly with me.
