Barry, eine junge Honigbiene, hat gerade seinen Schulabschluss gemacht und kann es kaum erwarten, die Welt zu erkunden. Von einem tristen Dasein als Arbeiter in der Honigfabrik hält er jedoch nichts und so stürzt er sich in das wohl größte Abenteuer seines Lebens. Ein durchschnittlicher Zeichentrickfilm mit einigen sehr guten Witzen (Larry King, Sting…), einer tollen Szene des ersten "Ausflugs" aus dem Bienenstock (die wirklich super ist) und… Und das ist eigentlich schon alles. Die visuelle Seite fand ich nicht besonders beeindruckend. Und abgesehen von der Feststellung, dass Bienen Top-Gun-mäßige Piloten sind, fehlen dem Film auch richtige Ideen. Der Gerichtsplot war meiner Meinung nach… Hmmm… Peinlich. Also wie gesagt – es ist ein durchschnittlicher Film.

When my girlfriend and I were at the cinema, we quite enjoyed ourselves, we were laughing and something stayed in our heads. But when I was supposed to watch the movie again, I was wondering why, actually? But yeah, it's still visible that it's well thought out, especially the bee world, and besides, there are good jokes and it tries to convey some message. Still enjoyable.

The animation is unfortunately not great, but otherwise a nice story about the life of bees. The humor wasn't particularly sophisticated either, but it was kind of light and breezy. So I'll call it "kind of a slightly above average movie break". It's something between 3 and 4. I'm giving it a 3 because the competition is stiff.
