Der fiese Stadtrat Boss Hogg will das Land der Farmer von Hazzard County in seinen Besitz bringen, um die darunterliegende Kohle abbauen zu lassen. Die chaotischen Cousins Bo und Luke Duke wollen das um jeden Preis verhindern. Die Cousins Bo und Luke Duke sind zwei sympathische Chaoten, die mit ihrem aufgemotzten orangefarbenen 69er Dodge Charger das friedliche Hazzard County unsicher machen. Zufällig finden die beiden heraus, dass der korrupte Stadtrat Boss Hogg das Land aller Farmer in der Gegend in seinen Besitz bringen will, um die darunterliegende Kohle fördern zu lassen. Zusammen mit ihrem schwarzbrennenden Onkel Jesse und ihrer scharfen Cousine Daisy setzen die beiden alles daran, die Pläne des fiesen Boss Hogg zu vereiteln. (RTL II)

A redneck comedy that is not funny except for two or three moments. Apart from some very decent car chases, it doesn't have much to offer, and even the chases in the "racist" car aren't enough to pull this dragging B-movie at least into the waters of average.

Hallo, ich bin eine peinliche amerikanische Komödie vom Lande und freue mich sehr, dass ich in SA so oft wiederholt werde. Und es spielt wirklich keine Rolle, dass es das 2.000.000ste Remake eines Remakes ist und dass es auf der Welle der 70er Jahre reitet, die nach 2000 wieder sexy ist. Und tschüss.

The awfully naive script has a lot of feeling, and I couldn't help grinning bitterly at the happy ending, but what does it matter when Knoxville, Scott and their souped-up General Lee have the gas pedal pressed firmly to the floor at all times, stopping only by a room full of undressed university students? I had a great time, the chases were great and Jessica Simpson needs no comment...

Points for Jessica, who is incredibly sexy here, points for... well, it's nice that Burt Reynolds is here and one knows he's alive, although it's been some time since the film was made. But otherwise, this comedy just didn't impress me. Johnny Knoxville and Seann William Scott seem like an interesting duo, but here they bothered me.
