Der Fremdenlegionär Leon erfährt in Afrika von der lebensgefährlichen Verletzung seines Bruders. Leon desertiert, um seiner Schwägerin Helene und seiner Nichte finanziell beizustehen. Mit illegalen Boxkämpfen bei der skrupellosen Promoterin Cynthia verdient er sich das Geld für die Heimreise. Als er in L. A. ankommt, ist sein Bruder bereits tot. Leon verpflichtet sich bei Cynthia zu weiteren Fights. Ein letzter Kampf gegen die Killermaschine Attila soll ausreichend Geld bringen. (Sat.1)

The action a level worse, the villains are less charismatic, and the plot is more idiotic with a motive so weak that it's almost funny. A very weak sequel. Kickboxer and the others at least had a pleasant touch of mysticism – partly because they were filmed outside of the US – and it is precisely this element that kills Lionheart.
