Der Fremdenlegionär Leon erfährt in Afrika von der lebensgefährlichen Verletzung seines Bruders. Leon desertiert, um seiner Schwägerin Helene und seiner Nichte finanziell beizustehen. Mit illegalen Boxkämpfen bei der skrupellosen Promoterin Cynthia verdient er sich das Geld für die Heimreise. Als er in L. A. ankommt, ist sein Bruder bereits tot.
