Bucky is a 16-year-old teenager with a phobia of blood who dreams of becoming a movie director. Warum müssen die Macher Gottes willen diesen dilettantischen Mist auf 100 Minuten strecken? All You Need Is Blood ist die Geschichte eines sechzehnjährigen Jungen, der entschlossen ist, einen Amateurfilm zu drehen, wozu er die Tatsache nutzen will, dass sein Vater gerade in einen Zombie verwandelt wurde. Im Film ergibt nichts Sinn, die Ereignisse passieren völlig zufällig und das Verhalten der Charaktere hat überhaupt keinen Anker in der Realität (außerdem ist der Hauptdarsteller extrem unerträglich dumm). Unterhaltsam ist es vielleicht etwa fünf Minuten vor Schluss, wenn ein kleiner Gorefest kommt, aber das ist wirklich wenig nach der vorherigen eineinhalbstündigen störenden Wanderung. [Sitges 2023]

For a horror comedy about amateur filmmakers, All You Need Is Blood is extraordinarily unfunny (most of its characters are rather unbearably annoying), with a lot of weak point in the narrative, from extreme naïveté in the motivations, dialogue and actions of the characters to endless nonsense in the plot continuity. The effort to make this into a meta-film about making a film comes across as hollow, as the result is merely dumb, incoherent rubbish. Some entertaining ideas and humorously bloody scenes turn up at the end, but until then, the prevailing impression is that of drawn-out agony.
