1984. In the little town the April 4 school ceremony is disturbed by political leaflets being distributed. Miki, the son of the local party secretary, and Zoli Kutas, the son of the illegal propagator of leaflets, are friends. They have a secret haunt where they hide from the world with their grievances. Kutas is under permanent police control, which the two boys are ignorant of. On a class excursion, Miki's father flirts with his son's pretty class teacher and has Kutas, whom he considers to be his rival, arrested. On Juli's intervention Kutas is released, on condition he immediately leaves the country with all his family. In vain Miki tries to find his friend, eventually, without saying a word, he gets into the Mercedes sent for him. (Budapest Film)
