Spaceballs

Ich kenne nur Dracula - Tot aber glücklich von Mel Brooks, der mir trotz seiner unterdurchschnittlichen Rezeption und Bewertung viel besser gefallen haben als diese Parodie auf eine der berühmtesten Filmsagen. Einerseits schätze ich einen gewissen Einfallsreichtum der Drehbuchautoren, aber andererseits fand ich die meisten Witze und Gags eher schlampig und ungenutzt. Ein möglicher Grund für mein Desinteresse an diesem Film ist, dass ich Spaceballs in der Synchronisation gesehen habe - wer weiß. Der Film versuchte auch, andere Science-Fiction-Klassiker der 60er und 70er Jahre - Planet der Affen oder Alien - zu parodieren, aber diese Versuche waren offensichtlich vorhersehbar und ließen den Humor vermissen. Für Fans von Brooks und SW ein wahres Paradies auf Erden, für mich jedoch eine ziemliche Enttäuschung. (28.12.2018)

Spaceballs ist nicht der beste Film von Brooks (das ist eindeutig The Producers), es ist aber seine beste Parodie. Ich wage Folgendes zu behaupten: Was die Anzahl der Witze, ihre Steigerung und die Lachanfälle betrifft, kann man diesen Film mit Hot Shots - Die Mutter aller Filme oder Die nackte Kanone vergleichen. Die beste Figur ist natürlich Lord Helmchen, gleich danach kommt Präsident Skroob. Bei manchen Filmen beneide ich ihre Regisseure, dass sie die Filme erfinden und drehen durften. From my point of view, this film is highly overrated, with its biggest problem being the significant inconsistency in the quality of individual gags. Very funny jokes alternate with basement-level humor or mere attempts at it. The film relies on parodying a generally well-known pop culture source, I would rather say it parasitizes on it. Overall impression (squinted eyes): 40%. One of those films that work if you are tired and want to relax with something undemanding. By the way, it did not make a big impact commercially. Because I never miss an opportunity to slag Star Wars, I will now say that since its mythology is like a parody of sci-fi and, and that half of the episodes are (unintentionally) funny, I think Spaceballs is an essentially pointless film. I’m writing this only because I don’t like Star Wars and I love making fun of it ;-). The fact is that I was able to overcome my prejudices towards film parodies and I had a lot of fun with Spaceballs. 7/10 (22.05.2011)

It is a bit outdated, but a good joke never stops being a good joke. In this case, there are excellent gags, unfortunately accompanied by quite ordinary jokes that sound quite awkward. However, as a parody of "Star Wars," the movie functions quite well. I really laughed at some scenes, so it earns points in its favor. Moreover, this is not a parody that only "Star Wars" fans will enjoy, others will also laugh. (08.04.2014)
