Necrotongue

The second episode could easily be titled "Dinner at Kelly's." This time, I knew what to expect, so I was ready for some good fun, and it delivered. Bruce Campbell's Ash gives a whole new meaning to "old school." My only gripe is the overly politically correct cast lineup.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this series — whether it would follow the original horror vibe or lean more towards the horror-comedy style of the second movie. The creators clearly chose the latter, blending comedy with brutal violence. While I didn't find much horror in the first episode, the mix of humor and gory mayhem worked really well for me. I had a blast.

The creators gave this episode a classic English countryside detective twist, and it surprisingly worked well for me. I was a bit worried about how Martin's behavior might change in romantic matters, but luckily, he stayed true to his character. He couldn’t help himself, which didn’t disappoint. Four stars well deserved!

Season 6 was weirdly unbalanced. Up until Episode 5, I felt the show had lost its spark. I wasn't enjoying myself and even considered saying goodbye to the protagonists, but then the story picked up momentum, the plot got way more interesting, and I started having fun. I did stumble across a few weaker moments before the final episode, but, overall, I was happy with this season.

Even though I saw the ending coming, I wasn't disappointed. Sure, there were a few cringeworthy moments with all the motivational speeches, but the plot remained engaging and eventful. Louis added a nice twist to the ending, just when it was in danger of becoming overly sentimental.

The legal drama was in full swing, the plot was engaging, and the story's pace picked up nicely. It even felt like there was less emotional manipulation this time. However, the excessive moralizing, which is becoming a staple in American series, still grated on my nerves.

A significant improvement over the last episode, as the creators brought the legal drama back into focus. Although the story's pace wasn't the quickest, it was great to see the show return to its roots. However, the overly sentimental moments were still a bit much for my taste.

Watching the sixth season feels like a rollercoaster ride. It started weak, picked up with some excellent episodes, and then dipped again. This episode focused more on family relationships than the cunning intrigues and legal battles I enjoy. If the creators aimed to add depth to the characters this way, they missed the mark.

With Jessica’s departure, the episode seemed to lose the atmosphere that made the previous ones so enjoyable. The writers reverted to the familiar battle between Louis and Harvey, but it feels like the show has evolved beyond that, leaving me a bit disappointed. 4*-

I was pretty satisfied with this episode and could have given it a five stars. However, in the end, it was just a bit too melodramatic for me. I get it, that's on me — I’m just not that emotionally tuned in to fully enjoy these moments like other viewers might. But there's not much I can do about it.
