Ich habe sehr lange auf eine Vorführung von Birth gewartet, und es hat sich gelohnt. Manche Themen müssen wirklich reifen. Die innere Welt einer Frau, die von einer Stunde auf die andere verwitwet ist, war eine weitere große Herausforderung für Nicole Kidmans hervorragenden schauspielerischen Auftritt. Manche Emotionen und Gefühle lassen sich nicht unterdrücken, Liebe kann man nicht zum Verschwinden bringen, manchmal reicht sogar ein ganzes Leben nicht aus, damit sich die Seele erholt... Der zerbrechliche Zustand, der gepflegt werden muss, wird dann zur täglichen Realität, und es wird von Tag zu Tag schwieriger, mit dieser Realität fertig zu werden. Ein starkes Thema.

Colette ist kein schlechter Film, aber ich finde die früheren Begegnungen Cieslars mit dem Zweiten Weltkrieg besser. Theoretisch müsste ich für alles, was Lustigs Handschrift trägt, Feuer und Flamme sein, aber leider gehen seine Themen etwas am Gesamtzusammenhang des Films vorbei.

Obwohl ich mit französischen Filmen und ihrer Mentalität im Allgemeinen nicht sehr vertraut bin und bei weitem nicht alles kenne, was die klassischen Attribute des Landes des Gallischen Hahns so faszinierend macht (das letzte Mal hat mir nur Und wenn wir alle zusammenziehen? gefallen), halte ich 3 Herzen für sehr gelungen. Ein absolutes Melodram mit sehr glaubwürdigen Emotionen, das ist etwas, was man nicht so oft sieht. Aber das sind auch die verschlungenen Pfade des Herzens.

Ein funktionierender Thriller mit einem sehr guten Hauptdarstellerpaar. Nicoles Charakter wurde durch das interessante Drehbuch, ihre Emotionen und ihr Styling in Blautönen so gut herausgearbeitet, dass es kaum zu glauben ist, dass sie eine weiße Afrikanerin repräsentiert. Madame Australia hat fürwahr ein sehr breites Register.

Bereits in Die Liebe seines Lebens - The Railway Man hat sich das neue Traumpaar Nicole Kidman und Colin Firth bewährt. Und dies ist ihr zweites Projekt. Ein schöner, intimer Thriller mit einer interessanten Auflösung. Manchmal ist weniger mehr. Ich freue mich darauf, sie als nächstes neben Law in Genius - Die tausend Seiten einer Freundschaft zu sehen.
