Im Sommer 1942 stehen sich die Truppen von Feldmarschall Rommel und dessen britischem Gegner Montgomery in der Schlacht von El Alamein gegenüber. Rommel verfolgt mit seinem Afrikakorps die britische 8. Armee. Doch die Truppen der Briten verstärken sich täglich. Und die Benzinvorräte des “Wüstenfuchses” sind knapp geworden – die versprochenen Königstiger-Panzereinheiten treffen nicht ein. Alle Männer leiden entsetzlich unter der Hitze in der Wüste. Es gelingt den Engländern schließlich, die Deutschen kurz vor El Alamein zu stoppen. Eine erbitterte Schlacht entbrennt und es kommt zum Rückzug des Afrikakorps auf Tobruk. (Verleiher-Text)
