The chroniclers are diligently scribbling the history of life and deeds of the virtuous and wise King Matthias, who, in the meantime, sneaks out of the palace in disguise. Instead of attending a boring reception of the imperial deputies and papal legates, he pays his address to three pretty women from Szelistye. But Beatrice, becomes suspicious, and together with her favourite lady-in-waiting dresses up in men's clothes and go to find Matthias. They also get involved in various adventures. After a great deal of complications she meets up her husband on the window-sill of the Inn To the Unicorn. As a result , they both get arrested and taken to the court fettered. Beatrice is bound to attest the spotless virtue of the three maidens from Szelistye. (Verleiher-Text)
