Einem totgeglaubten Ritter entwenden drei Strauchdiebe eine Urkunde und geben sie Brancaleone. Sie verbürgt dem Inhaber den Besitz des Lehensgutes Aurocastro. Brancaleone zieht an der Spitze der kleinen Strauchdiebe in Richtung seines neuen Besitzes. Unterwegs hat er viele gefährliche und tollkühne Abenteuer zu bestehen. Abenteuer, die ihm mehr als einmal fast das Leben kosten. Schöne Frauen säumen seinen unaufhaltsamen Weg und die Schar seiner Anhänger und Bewunderer wächst ständig. (filmjuwelen/fernsehjuwelen)

An (un)chivalric satire about a Don Quixote-esque hero, his band of crafty cowards, and one yellow horse who has the most common sense of them all. A great comedy of our youth for many of us and, most of all, a movie that (like Frosty) is based on the genius of Czech dubbing from 1969, and which has nothing to do with the original (just like Frosty), but it is certainly not to its detriment (as with Frosty). And one of the obvious sources for the future Monty Python and the Holy Grail (unlike Frosty).

A French parody of knightly films, filled with a bunch of idiotic characters, and you can easily recognize where the movie The Visitors drew its inspiration from. I can't help but feel that this film didn't strike me as particularly funny either. Instead, it must be acknowledged that there are indeed some good and surprising ideas in it. Like the yellow horse.
