Gualtiero Jacopetti schuf mit “Mondo Cane” einen der ersten Mondo-Filme überhaupt. Zwei Jahre war Jacopetti unterwegs, um für seine “Hundewelt” rund um den Globus, von Neuguinea bis hin zu den USA Menschliches und Unmenschliches für die Nachwelt festzuhalten. Dieser Film bewegte seinerzeit die Welt, dabei zeigt er doch nur das grausame Tier: den Menschen! (Verleiher-Text)

Mondo films have something special about them, and the movie "Mondo Cane" is the first one that tried to show the world "as it is." But that's not true because it's very distorted, strongly subjective, and aimed at shocking the audience. However, you cannot deny the impact it has on you. Some scenes are simply disgusting, and you know that what is shown either happened or could have happened.
