When telephone lineman Bruce Johnson accidentally overhears a conversation in which a young woman hires a hitman to kill her sister, he decides to take matters into his own hands. Surprised to discover the sisters live together, he must deduce who's trying to kill whom. Through a series of charades and affairs, Johnson becomes deeply entangled in the mystery and the sisters.
