Pat Brennan will für seine kleine Farm von Großrancher Tenvoorde einen Zuchtbullen kaufen. Dabei kommt es zu einer Wette: Wenn es Brennan gelingt, den Bullen zu reiten, soll er ihm umsonst gehören. Andernfalls erhält Tenvoorde Brennans Pferd. Leider verliert Brennan und wird in der Wüste von seinem Freund, dem Postkutscher Rintoon, aufgegabelt. Unterwegs wird die Kutsche jedoch von dem Banditen Usher und seinen Anhängern angegriffen. Aber diesmal bleibt Brennan der Sieger! (Kabel eins classics)

When you lose a bet in which you bet on your horse, you probably don't even realize what it could mean for you. A story about how one honest guy finds himself in a situation where he has to save not only himself but also a woman. There are three thugs against him and he doesn't have much to stand against them. A western brilliantly built as an intimate drama. In addition, everything is portrayed in beautiful colors. A relatively rough film, rougher than most classic westerns, like those with John Wayne. It's not caused by violence, but rather by the hopeless situation of the couple.
