Der Film dreht sich um einen kleinen Jungen namens Alexander Napolean Ulysses Latour, der in einem kleinen Örtchen in Louisiana lebt, und es liebt, am Fluß zu spielen. It has its charm, that's for sure, but on the other hand, I think more interesting things could have been done in that area. What can you do? Some scenes are good; they managed to film truly excellent scenes with animals, but that's really the main contribution. And of course, capturing the era and the perspective on mining.
