Wildhüter George Adamson zieht zusammen mit seiner Frau Joy drei Löwenbabys mit der Flasche groß. Schweren Herzens müssen sie dann die heranwachsenden Löwinnen in den Zoo geben - aber von Elsa, Joys Liebling, können sie sich nicht trennen. Nach und nach jedoch sehen Joy und George die Notwendigkeit ein, Elsa wieder in die Wildnis zu entlassen. Doch dazu ist Elsa unfähig. Mühsam müssen ihr die Adamsons beibringen, Wild zu jagen ... This is a classic for me, taking me back to my childhood. I look at the film a little differently now, but I still can't help thinking that it's absolutely beautiful how nature is portrayed here. Not to mention how the film works with animals, which is absolutely captivating, and the actors alongside them are mostly genuine. Beautiful.
